Mr. Chuck,

I was wondering anyone knows who owns the Copyright to the Abbey Road Album cover. I have contacted Abbey Road Studios, EMI and Apple Records. Guy Hayden at Emi got back to me and directed to me to Aaron Bremner at Apple Corps, Guy and I have both e-mailed Aaron but got no response. I created a poster for the Expedition 26 crew using the Abbey Road Album cover as a background (see attached). The crew really loves the poster, but NASA wants me to get permission so everything is legal. These posters are not for sale and have limited print run and are given out only to NASA employees to promote the mission and inspire some moral.

The painter standing on the sidewalk is a friend of mine, Dave Houston. He saw the police clearing the street and went out to see what was going on. He was painting a house on Abbey Road at the time.

I have a copy of the abbey road album but the cover is different and the record is unlabeled, i see from the pictures above that it is an outtake that was used. Does anyone know what this would be?

Nice article, I have several of the original photos printed from the original Iain Macmillan negatives from an ex neighbour of his, they are a lovely thing to own!
